It’s been a quiet fall, which has been good after a fairly busy summer. Juggling being a full time pastor and a part time musician gets tricky sometimes and so I appreciate the breaks when we don’t have as many performances even though I really miss performing.
Since there haven’t been as many performances this fall we’ve been able to focus on getting ready to do some more recording. We’ll head into the studio mid-January to record 5 or 6 tunes. We’re going to add David Allen’s cousin Steve Allen on percussion for this set of recordings and I’m also contemplating finding a saxophone player to join us on a tune or two. Should be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to share these recordings with you early in 2014. This time around I’m planning to make these available via digital downloads from my website just for something different.
We have a few things coming up in December (check out the events page) and I’m busily setting up gigs for 2014. I’ll keep you posted.
Check out this recording made at the Bourbon Street Grille in July. It’s my first performance with the Madison College Big Band and it isn’t half bad. Hope you enjoy!
